******When we were small my mom used to pack up my three sisters and I and take us on a picnic to the country. We traveled down a lovely tree lined, barely paved road. We laid out a blanket, under the shady trees, had Koolaid and peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches.  Next to us was a fenced in enclosure with sheep.  We called it ‘going to go visit the sheep’.  There was a huge Hickory nut tree, we would collect the nuts to take home and eat later. The sheep probably loved them too. There was an old cemetary adjacent with older stones that wern’t qute straight. We loved those trips.  As an adult I asked mom about that particular adventure. She told me it was fun, and because we couldn’t afford to do much else. It was fun and we didn’t know any better, the true reason why.
